If the generators got destroyed (say, from incendiary mortars, since most people never bothered with heatsinks to regulate thermal stability), usually the power supplied by the cockpit was insufficient to run everything. I loved that your aim sensitivity was determined by the chassis' rotation speed (measured in degrees of rotation per second), which is how quickly the turntable on top of the chassis could rotate and tilt the rest of the mech when fully powered. You'd see people running mechs that would fall over instantly if such physics had ever been implemented (cough - quad cannon chicken leg hound - cough). I designed all of mine so that if they had ever patched the game to have such physics, my mechs would be fine. The only thing I had to complain about it was that there weren't any physics for tipping/rolling-over mechs.

Originally posted by Roy:I honestly only played MAV and not chromehounds, is it really that much of a legendary game? You have no idea the game was amazing. Does this game fall into that realm, or should I wait for the newly announced 2nd Chromehounds game (I nearly creamed myself when I found out CH2 is in the works)? Do I have to manage weight, power generation, fuel, cooling, weapon placement/firing sequence, ammo supply, ammo type, chassis turn radius, rate of turret rotation, armor distribution, etc.? Or is this game watered down?īluntly put, is customization akin to MMORPG or Mass Effect 2? I'm hoping for absurdly complex customization, yet with an intuitive GUI like CH. Primarily, I want to know how similar the mechanics are. I ask CH vets, because they'd know what I'm talking about. So I want to know, AND ONLY FROM THOSE WHO'VE EXCESSIVELY PLAYED CHROMEHOUNDS (600 hours or more (I had about 1,500 hours)), is this game basically Cromehounds with trucks? Or is this game watered down like so many 'build your own' vehicle warfare games? So Chromehounds - the best mech game of all time - was my go-to game for insanely creative vehicle warfare back on the Xbox 360 before the servers were finally shut down (a sad, sad day for all fans of Chromehounds, as the online was where the game was at).
